We were commissioned to design, manufacture, and install a steel chimney for a large fabric manufacturing facility in Accrington, Lancashire. The project required precise engineering to ensure structural stability, weatherproofing, and seamless integration with the facility’s existing boiler system.
The chimney was fabricated in two modular strakes at our workshop to allow for efficient transport and on-site installation. Each section was manufactured to engineering specifications, ensuring the correct alignment and fitment once assembled.
On delivery to the site, a local crane company lifted the strakes into position. Our engineering team then carried out the bolted assembly, securing one joint at the boiler connection and the other above roof level. All connections were carefully checked for structural integrity and compliance with safety standards.
Once the chimney was fully assembled, the roof interface was sealed and weatherproofed, protecting the building from the elements and ensuring long-term operational reliability.
The project was completed on schedule to a high standard, providing the facility with a robust, durable steel chimney designed for safe and efficient flue gas evacuation.
